Fox News reporter Madeleine Rivera says Ayman al-Zawahiri was Osama bin Laden’s “right-hand man” and his death will be a “significant blow” to the terrorist organisation al-Qaeda.
Al-Zawahiri took over leadership of al-Qaeda after bin Laden was killed in 2011.
“He wasn’t as charismatic as bin Laden for sure but he was obviously the leader of this organisation,” she told Sky News Australia.
“Just days ago he was releasing videos calling for attacks against Americans and its allies.”
