U.S. Open qualifying is under way in Flushing Meadows but at least one fan is more than ready for the tournament to begin.

Serbian former tennis pro Viktor Troicki was watching Tuesday evening’s match on Court 5 between Hamad Medjedovic, a fellow Serb, and Croatian Borna Gojo when things got interesting in the stands.

Troicki, who retired in 2021, is believed to have asked a man behind him to “tamp down” his support for Gojo, according to the Daily Mail.

That’s when things turned for the worse.

The fan became enraged and needed to be held back from going after Troicki, screaming, “Get off me, this is f–king private.”

“If you can’t take somebody cheering against your f–kng player — this is the US Open, there’s 12 million f–king people in this city! We are all f–king loud! F–king clown,” the spectator seethed.

Troiki didn’t take the bait and kept his voice low while the fan continued his verbal assault, screaming, “We’re cheering, you d–k! It’s New York, not f–king Serbia!”

The fan didn’t find much support from the crowd as he was showered with boos.

When security tried to put an end to the incident, the fan defended his behavior and pointed to Troicki, saying, “This a–h–e told me to shut up.”

Troicki, who once ranked as high as No. 12 in the world, has coached the 20-year-old Medjedovic since late 2022, the Daily Mail reports.

However, Tuesday wasn’t the 20-year-old Serb’s day, losing in three sets to Gojo, 7-5, 6-7 (2), 6-4.

Gojo will face Bulgarian Adrian Andreev on Thursday in the next round of qualifying.
