Tony Romo had a string of viral moments during the Thanksgiving broadcast of the Dallas Cowboys hosting the Washington Commanders, and he had another on Sunday during the Philadelphia Eagles game against the Buffalo Bills.

In a passing breath, Romo had audiences laughing and cringing when he expressed what he thought of fellow broadcaster Jin Nantz’s looks after commenting on the Eagle’ defensive line.

“It’s not sexy like you Jim,” Romo said during an early part of Sunday’s game on CBS. “But it’s the game at its core.”

Football fans had already been chirping online about Romo’s work on the broadcast, which has seen growing scrutiny from those watching at home.

A number of fans had posted memes and GIFs poking fun at Romo’s broadcast style.

One even wrote on X: “Welcome to another game where Tony Romo is just kind of saying stuff.”

“why must we suffer with Tony Romo?” another user on X wrote Sunday.

Earlier this week, football fans had roasted Romo for his overly enthusiastic reaction to Dolly Parton’s halftime performance on Thanksgiving.

“She was wearing the Cowboys cheerleading outfit,” Romo said with a grin to Nantz. “You saw that coming, didn’t you? You said, ‘I think she’s going to go with a little cheerleading outfit tonight.’ I was like, wow, that’s pretty good. I mean, she looks amazing, right? She’s wonderful. Who doesn’t like Dolly Parton?”

Nantz during that game awkwardly tried to get Romo to move on to talking about the game before offering up a comment on the Country singer and then moved the broadcast forward.

Before the game, Romo and Nantz were making waves on social media due to an extremely awkward hug they shared in order to show how thankful they were for one another.

Romo is in his sixth season as a broadcaster and has seen some of the luster wear off on his game analysis.

The Post’s Andrew Marchand reported in February that CBS brass met with Romo and “staged something of an intervention” to get him back to what made him so successful at the start of his broadcasting career.

In an August interview with The Athletic, Romo brushed aside some of the criticism he’s gotten and said CBS has been happy with the work that he’s been doing.

“You don’t go by what some people might say,” Romo said. “They love our team. They know how talented this group is. I think that they appreciate our skill set, and we do theirs.”
