Did Harry Styles need to nuke some “Watermelon Sugar” after his recent Long Island show?
Fans of the singer and fleeting “Eternals” actor have gone wild online after the British phenom was recently accused of stealing a microwave from Long Island’s UBS Arena in a viral TikTok posted by the daughter of a cameraman who worked the singer’s Nov. 28 “Love on Tour” performance.
TikToker Dianna Rainone, 18, posted text screenshots between her and her father, alleging that “Harry styles stole (the) crew microwave from the ubs arena” — but it was actually an inside joke between the two, Rainone, who attended the show as a fan, told The Post.
“He hit me out of nowhere saying the crew microwave was missing and he had joked around saying Harry Styles stole it. I could not stop laughing, so I figured why not make a TikTok about it,” she said. “I went to bed that night not even checking the app and I woke up to over like 20,000 views and 12,000 likes which was insane.”
Representatives for Styles didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment from The Post.
In the video, which has reached 151,000 views and counting, Rainone jokingly ranted: “Oh, Harry. I believe this man took that microwave and you can not prove it to me otherwise … He said, ‘I will be leaving my mark on the UBS Arena.’ “
Even though the Styles superfan was kidding around, many of those viewers took the claim to heart and reached out to Rainone with legitimate concern for both the pop act and the kitchen appliance.
“So many people thought it was real. They were like, ‘OMG, is your dad going to say anything to someone or are they going to get in touch with Harry’s team?’” said Rainone, an early childhood education major at Long Island University Post.
Many of those startled fans who were unaware it was just a hoax were quick to post their shock over the former One Direction singer on Twitter.
“WDYM HARRY STYLES STOLE THE CREW MICROWAVE FROM UBS ARENA,” user @finelinelynch wrote of her surprise.
“somebody at ubs arena please release security footage of harry styles stealing your microwave that’s the funniest thing i’ve ever heard,” @esnylov3r tweeted.
“YALL ARE TELLING ME MULTIMILLIONAIRE SUPERSTAR ROCKSTAR MODEL ACTOR BUSINESSMAN HARRY STYLES STOLE A MICROWAVE??” Twitter user @jprrysgf aggressively posted.
Rainone’s viral video also set off a spree of memes on the topic, featuring Styles making off with the appliance, and which Rainone found hilarious.
“Harry Styles steals hearts, money and microwaves. so true,” @teaandfrozenpea posted.
“Breaking News: Harry Styles was heard singing “WE’VE GOT TO GET AWAAAAAY” while running out of UBS Arena with a stolen microwave,” @mxrphineharry tweeted.
While Styles has seemingly been ruled out as a suspect, the case of the “stolen microwave” at the Elmont venue is still open, Rainone said.
“It would be hilarious if Harry took the microwave, but my dad said someone probably moved it to clean or something,” she added. “I really hope Harry does not see this — I’ll die of embarrassment.”
