Six years ago, the most surreally viral video in NFL Draft history hit the internet.

Laremy Tunsil, an elite offensive tackle out of Ole Miss who was a top prospect entering the 2016 NFL Draft, had a video leak of him hitting a gas-mask bong hours before he was to be selected near the top of the first round.

With the 2022 NFL Draft approaching, Tunsil announced he is putting the incident behind him — and, naturally, turning what were once harrowing circumstances into an NFT.

“For the past 6 years, I’ve been asked about this moment,” Tunsil tweeted Wednesday. “The gas mask. I’ve spent 6 years trying to do rather than say — on the field and off the field. I’m officially moving on and putting this moment in the past.”

The gas-mask bong video is a one of one NFT, and Tunsil is donating the proceeds to The Prisoner Project, a cause supporting getting people who have been incarcerated for marijuana offenses out of prison.

The current bidding for the NFT, which just went up Wednesday morning, is at .25 Ethereum, which equals around $700.

A week before the draft, Mel Kiper had Tunsil going third overall. Tunsil wound up slipping to 13th to the Dolphins. The contract difference between going third and 13th was about $12 million over four years.

Tunsil, who has been selected to two Pro Bowls, played three seasons for the Dolphins before he was traded to the Texans for two first-round picks. The 27-year-old signed a three-year, $66 million contract with Houston prior to the 2021 season.
