A homeowner has been mocked for her ridiculous requirements for renters, including having set times they are allowed to use the shower.

A woman’s bizarre list of demands for the person renting her spare room has been mercilessly mocked online, after the strange listing went viral.

The listing on SpareRoom, a website that helps renters find available rooms, offers one bedroom in a shared apartment in Glasgow.

The price is £700 ($A1,295) per month and the unidentified homeowner states they are looking for a person aged in their 30s to 40s who doesn’t smoke or vape.

However, the room is only available to rent through Monday to Friday.

If the tenant wishes to remain in the home for the “occasional” weekend, then that can be arranged – but at an extra cost.

The homeowner kindly states the tenant will have access to a shower, but only at certain times.

“You will have access to my shower during agreed times and your own downstairs bathroom with a roll-top bath, which I will also have access to (times tba in advance),”

Thankfully, the tenant will only be required to do 30 per cent of the household cleaning, with the owner doing the other 70 per cent as she is the only one living there full time.

You are allowed to have guests over, but only if they are agreed upon in advance. Pets are not allowed.

The landlord boasts the home is located in the “up-and-coming G42 area” and would be ideal for a healthcare worker as it is located opposite the New Victoria Hospital.

A screenshot of the demands was posted to Twitter this week by user Sanne Jehoul, with the post quickly attracting hundreds of comments.

“For £700 pcm you could rent a one bedroom flat all to yourself in ‘up and coming G42’!!!” one Twitter user wrote.

“This sounds like a living nightmare. Like seriously dystopian and horrible,” another wrote.

Another said: “Cannot be real. It just can’t be”.

The listing has been edited since first being posted and now no longer states that the shower can only be used at prearranged times.

It also seems weekends are now included in the price, with no reference to the agreement only covering Monday to Friday.
